Providing Hope
& Support
We are a non-profit organization; we are looking forward to a peaceful world by helping each other to join hands together to bring a better future for all children.
About Us
Greer Shelter to Empower People (STEP) provides early intervention to enable individuals and families to move from being homeless to employed-with-home. The facility provides four (4) separate apartments and 5 Tiny Homes for participants and meeting space for a 90-day program conducted by trained professionals. To enter the program, families or veterans must be homeless, have a strong desire to change the behaviors that have led to becoming homeless, and be recommended by an appointed commission. Successful participants will be equipped to secure independent housing in the community.
Goal
The goal of STEP (Shelter To Empower People) is that participants “graduate” with a sustainable job, a safe and affordable place to live, a “mental model” of their future life, and a spiritual hope that will sustain them going forward. Toward that end, STEP will provide no-cost housing in a safe environment with learning opportunities for spiritual, emotional, and financial development. We aim to serve as a catalyst for change and transformation for homeless individuals, families, and veterans. By providing a holistic range of services including transitional housing, meticulous case management, essential life and financial skills training, and spiritual guidance, STEP aims to equip the underserved with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to rebuild their lives. The overarching aim is to foster self-sufficiency, resilience, and stability, enabling our participants to overcome their circumstances, integrate successfully into society, and achieve lasting independence and fulfillment. The ultimate aspiration of STEP is to not only address immediate needs but also to facilitate long-term, sustainable change, contributing to the alleviation of homelessness in our community.
